Our Journey
In the fall of 2004 we embarked on a journey to move our promotional products company towards economic, environmental and social sustainability.
The journey begins with our love of nature and an understanding that we are personally responsible for this earth - upon which we live and depend.
Polar Pin has a office in Canmore, Alberta. Canmore also happens to be the backdrop for a new community-wide movement called The Natural Step to a Sustainable Canmore. In the Spring of 2005, the Town of Canmore and other like-minded businesses and organizations, including Polar Pin, adopted The Natural Step Framework (www.naturalstep.ca) to use as a planning framework for sustainability.
Canmore will become the second Canadian community to implement The Natural Step's community-wide engagement program after Whistler, British Columbia. The framework provides a compass that directs individuals and organizations toward environmental, social and economic sustainability and now Polar Pin is on it's way. As a result of adopting this sustainability framework, we hope that Polar Pin can serve as a leader and role model in championing this worthwhile and important endeavor.
Our Vision
Our vision for Polar Pin is to provide our customers with promotional products that reflect them in a positive manner and that are ultimately affordable, sustainable and Promote a Better World.
We will achieve this by:
- evolving a sustainable product line of goods manufactured using recycled and renewable resources
- choosing environmentally-sound production and transportation methods
- working with customers and suppliers to use existing and emerging earth-friendly technologies and products
- enhancing our stakeholders' lives - employees, suppliers, customers and the communities in which we operate - by maintaining relationships based on mutual respect and caring
