Hemp, Bamboo & Organic Cotton Shirts
Hemp
Choose Hemp for Durability, Beauty, Quality and the Earth.
Hemp cultivation is among the oldest industries on the planet, going back more than 10,000 years to the beginnings of pottery. Hemp is among the Earth's longest natural soft fibers, which makes our clothing so special. Hemp fabric softens over time, which is sure to make your Hemp clothing some of the most comfortable in your wardrobe.
Bamboo
Bamboo is processed with little or no environmental damage and its long
fibers are extremely strong. It has a natural ability to breath and wick
moisture away due to its porous nature. It actually keeps the wearer
cooler by one to two degrees than someone wearing cotton. The process of
making bamboo fabric is ecologically friendly and does not require any
chemicals.
Organic Cotton
Organic cotton has the same fiber strength, length and other properties as conventional cotton.
Organically raised cotton is gradually winning over new ground both on the farm and in the marketplace. No toxins or synthetic fertilizers are used. Organic cotton is produced without the use of harsh chemical bleaches or dyes, and is allergy free. Natural fertilizers, compost and soil amendments are used, and advances in natural pest control, such as ladybugs which destroy harmful insects, have helped make raising organic cotton a viable enterprise. Organic cotton clothing, unheard of a few years ago, is now available in many stores and online businesses.
According to the Sustainable Cotton Project, each it takes one-third of a pound of pesticides to produce one T-shirt. You do have a choice & buy organic!
